Heating & Electrical

We ran a duct in the basement, and are most of the way through the electrical.

Stairs Installation

Last weekend we removed the old stairs and landing and installed the new ones we constructed.

Old stairs pulled out and removed.

Stair Construction

We measured and designed the replacement stairwell that will go straight into the addition, replacing the stairs and landing that leads to the kitchen. We also removed the door and frame and made the opening higher (so no more head bonking.)

The stairs, ready to be assembled, the treads
leaning against the wall to the left, and the
kick plates stacked in the center. The footings
for the steps were already screwed into place.

Basement Door Header

We used the circular saw and saws-all to cut open the wall over the former back door and pulled out all the itchy insulation, and installed the door header.

Outside Work

Here are the back steps that Tracy made.
And we installed the dual clothes lines, and modified the pole to add a cross bar.

Fan Ducting

We installed the new ceiling fan/light for the new washroom, and ran insulated ducts to the roof and out. We also connected the existing washroom fan to a new duct as it used to exit out the section of roof that was covered.

More Framing

We continued to frame in the walls, and got a few photos taken.
Tom and I had to do some yoga to nail down the storage room flooring (Tom was fortunate enough not to be photographed).
Once I was done twisting and truning, Tracy and Tom drywalled the storage areas, as it's easier to do that now.
