Main Floor Walls Up!

Well, we had a couple problems that slowed us down, including a massive thunderstorm that almost filled the new and existing basements with water--but did keep us up half the night un clogging drains and rolling up rugs to guide the water to the drain. But, today, the Grandfathers managed to get the remaining walls up, with the window and door opening cut into them. One large window required the building of a lintel above it. Now, we can get a better picture of how the addition will be.

We had to remove the remaining stucco. My Dad and Tracy at work.
Then we had to trim off the eaves along the back of the house. Pushing up the shingles and using a sawsall up on the scaffold.
Greg and I up on the scaffold. Tom mounting a 2x6 up the wall for the first wall panel.
My Dad building the window header.
Window header in placeTom and Ben having a break. Ben likes to hammer.
Going around the corner...
...in the stretch...
...and the last section is in!
And the roof joists arrived today.
